The deadline to nominate an intermediary representative for the PMI industry panel has been extended until February 25, 2000.
The decision to include intermediary representation on the panel follows feedback from the seminars ran by the panel last summer on the response to the Office of Fair Trading’s healthcare reports.
It intends to have three or four intermediaries on the panel to represent the diverse nature of the market.
The intermediaries put forward will play a pivotal role in the future of the PMI industry, representing its interests in issues discussed by the panel.
The panel has finalised its agenda for the next stage of its work and this includes working with groups such as the General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) to ensure the interests of the PMI industry are represented in the new regime.
The nomination process is being handled by Health Insurance
independently of the panel.
