Universal Provident has launched a healthcare policy that keeps premiums low by enhancing, rather than replacing, the National Health Service (NHS). For less than £5 a week a family can receive major benefits including personal amenity room, fast-track private treatment in certain circumstances and overseas exploratory treatment for the terminally ill.
NHS Plus was introduced following polls indicating most people would pay a small additional amount in tax for an improved NHS service. The product allows them to make a small additional voluntary contribution for the extra benefits they most want.
Research by Universal Provident into why people buy private medical insurance highlighted three main concerns: lack of privacy in public wards, waiting lists and inability to receive certain treatment. Universal Provident managing director Jon Pardoe said: “NHS Plus is available for an entire family for less than many people spend on the lottery. There’s no excuse for people not to enhance their family’s healthcare.” For further information tel: 01254 266 201.
