Thousands of cancers are going undetected because patients are not going to their GP, experts have warned.
It is thought that referrals for urgent hospital appointments or checks are down by as much as 75% since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Cancer research UK said about 2,300 cancers a week have been missed as a result.
Many treatable cancers will become inoperable if they remained undetected, the charity said.
Separate figures estimate another 400 cancers a week are being missed because screening is suspended for and bowel disease, the Daily Mail reported.
