Swiss Life (UK) is holding a fringe meeting at the Labour party conference to examine the effect ecommerce could have on financial services and their regulation.
The meeting, entitled e-business@labour conference, is being held jointly with the political think tank Demos. It will be hosted by Steve Burnett, managing director of Swiss Life (UK) and the chairman will be Tom Bentley, director of Demos.
Panellists include Patricia Hewitt, minister for the department of trade, Howard Davies, chairman of the Financial Services Authority, Ian McKenna, director of Financial Technology Research Centre and Peter Catt, operations director at Advizas.
The meeting is being held on September 28 and will be broadcast live on the Internet. An online discussion concerning the issues raised at the meeting will be held on the Swiss Life website for a month afterwards. The address of the Swiss Life site is www.swisslife.co.uk.
