CIGNA employees literally went out on limb last month to raise money for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
Nine brave staff members did a sponsored abseil off the 150 feet high Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock and discovered what the Firth of Clyde looks like from a bird’s eye view.
The event was organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the NHS. A spokeman for CIGNA commented: “We are a healthcare company and we wanted to support a medical charity as well as out local hospital – especially as, in our capacity as providers of medical insurance, we work closely with the NHS”
On the same day, Ann Dougan from CIGNA raised over £90 for the charity when she took part in a sponsored 10km run in Glasgow.
CIGNA supports a number of local medical charities throughout the year through a number of regular events.
