The PMI Handbook 2010 – special discount for HI readers

29th March 2011

Health Insurance readers can enjoy a special discount on the price of this year’s PMI Handbook, the comprehensive sales-aid and reference source designed specifically for IFAs involved in the private medical insurance (PMI) industry.

The 360-page book provides cover details on both individual and group policies from 30 insurers on a like-for-like basis. Each entry is colour-coded and contains cover comparisons, commission guides, contact details and special points to note on each contract. A glossary of the main medical terms is included as well as a contact list of international PMI providers. The publication is suitable for both intermediaries currently active in PMI and those wishing to break into the market. All entries are fully approved by the PMI providers concerned.

Andrew Green, who compiled the book, said that there are hundreds of different PMI plans available in the market and it can be difficult for IFAs to keep ahead of the game.

“This year has seen the continuing growth in new products and IFAs certainly have their work cut out when familiarising themselves with many options available,” he said. “The book aims to make their life a lot easier.

Green added that the book can also be useful as a compliance tool to help IFAs demonstrate they have met Treating Customers Fairly requirements.

The A5-sized handbook is published in loose-leaf binder format and updated annually. The cost for an annual subscription is £118. A 35% discount is offered to subscribers to Health Insurance. The reduced subscription is £76 (plus P&P). The book is available through Craigdallie Publishing on 01273 834732.
