Improved health, wellbeing, productivity and morale are the biggest advantages of offering eye care, a survey of employers suggests.
The Specsavers Corporate Eyecare poll of over 500 HR decision makers found 42% cited improved health and wellbeing as a top advantage, owing to the early detection of illnesses through an eye examination.
Improved productivity was cited by 37% of respondents, with a reduction of ailments such as headaches and tired eyes.
Over a third (35%) believe improved morale is a key advantage of eye care at work.
Jim Lythgow, director of strategic alliances at Specsavers Corporate Eyecare, said if eye care can play even a small part in improving the lives of employees and, therefore, increasing productivity, then that has to be a good thing.
Over a third (34%) said eye care is a highly-valued benefit, and 31% said they appreciated the low-cost.
