The PMI industry panel has won a special award from the Plain English Campaign in recognition of its commitment to promoting clear and straightforward language.
The award, which was presented at the 20th Plain. English Campaign Awards, is for the work the panel has undertaken to introduce greater simplicity in buying PMI. Nicholas Beazley, chairman of the panel, accepted the award from Chrissie Maher, founder of the Plain English Campaign (left) and the ITN newsreader Dermot Murnaghan(right).
On accepting the award, Beazley commented: “The PMl industry is committed to putting the’ customer first in everything it does The award is a welcome recognition of this commitment.”
Although the first phase of the panel’s work has been completed with the publication of the consumer guides, it continues to work on new initiatives to increase clarity in the PMI market. Currently it is examining the common words and phrases used within the industry and intends to produce a list of definitions for PMI providers by the summer.
