Boisseau to replace Ablett
Groupama has appointed Francois-Xavier Boisseau as managing director, replacing outgoing Tim Ablett. He joins after 13 years with the Axa Group, the last 10 years of which were at Axa Insurance UK where his most recent position was as director of underwriting and claims. The appointment will take effect from 1 June 2003 and is subject to FSA approval. Commenting on the appointment, Pierre Lefevre, chairman and chief executive at Groupama Insurances, said: “Following Groupama’s renewed long term commitment and the recent substantial capital injection, this is an exciting period for our business. Francois has tremendous practical experience and a level of expertise that will offer a valuable new dimension to the leadership of the Group.”
New area managers
UnumProvident has appointed Nick Boyton as area sales manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, succeeding Stewart Shearer who recently retired. The provider has also appointed Richard Jhugroo as the area sales manager for Leeds. He joins from Scottish Equitable where he held a national accounts position. Both Boyton and Jhugroo will focus on growing the employee benefits business and will be responsible for strengthening relationships with local intermediaries in income protection, group life and group critical illness markets.
