Louise Williams, a cleaner at the Stoke Mandeville National Spinal Injuries Centre, has won the Unsung Hero Award -1999 at the NH5 Confederation Annual Conference in Harrogate.
She was nominated for the award by Catherine Dover, directorate general manager at the hospital. Commenting, on her dedication to healthcare, Dover said: “Louise is a lady that everyone on the ward remembers. We often have ex-patients returning to visit when they attend an out-patient appointment, and they turn up on the ward asking “Where’s Louise?.”
The award, which is sponsored by Norwich Union Healthcare, pays tribute to hospital and’ community health workers and volunteers who have shown outstanding dedication.
