Reinsurance company Liberty Re, which aimed to specialise in the health market, has pulled out of the UK. The move comes despite initial disclosures of satisfaction with its performance in the sector.
In November last year, executive director Bob Douglas told Health Insurance
that Liberty Re intended to apply new methods of health reinsurance. He said: “We are trying to look at things through the other end of the telescope.”
However, this month, spokesman Matt Edmondson confirmed that the Liberty Re had gone under in the UK, but was unwilling to comment on the future of the company.
