Clare Hollingsworth, the former CEO of private hospital group Spire Healthcare and its predecessor Bupa Hospitals, has been appointed non-executive chairman designate of the Go-Ahead Group, the public transport operator which provides bus and rail services across the UK.
Go-Ahead Group said that Hollingsworth will succeed Andrew Allner who is stepping down as non-executive chairman and retire from the board in October.
In addition to her CEO roles at Bupa Hospitals and Spire Healthcare, Hollingswoth has been a non-executive director at Virgin Healthcare Holdings.
She has been non-executive chairman of Eurostar International since July 2013, having first joined the board as a non-executive director in 2010, and leaves the business at the end of June.
She is also currently a non-executive director of UK Government Investments and Molnlycke AB, and senior independent director at The LTA.
She was previously a non-executive director with Savills plc and Assura plc, both property businesses. She has also been managing director at Caledonian Airways.
