Bupa is set to launch a product that aims to protect businesses from some of the costs of long term sickness absence and at the same time provide benefits to staff.
Bupa Work Assured will offer a combination of financial and health benefits for companies and their staff via one single scheme. Features will include: income replacement cover for staff who are on long term sick leave; lump sum financial benefits in cases of specified serious illnesses or operations; cash reimbursement for staff to help cover some of the expenses incurred due to ill health; easy access to expert guidance on occupational health issues and 24 hour access to a confidential HealthLine.
Steve Flanagan, sales director at Bupa, says: “Bupa Work Assured is easy for companies to join because it requires no underwriting and no medical evidence – an easier sell for the intermediary.”
The scheme is designed to cover 10 or more employees. Further information will be sent to intermediaries in mid June.
