Cornhill Insurance has denied an accusation that it will only offer agencies to sell PMI products to registered IFAs.
One specialist health intermediary claimed an agency was turned down because he did not have registered status.
The intermediary, who asked not to be named, said: “I find their stance rather puzzling. The company categorically made it clear that they only offered agencies to registered IFAs.”
He added: “I do not think that this is the best strategy to expand in the healthcare market.”
But a spokeswoman for Cornhill Insurance said: “So long as an intermediary, IFA or broker meets our stipulations we will be happy to give them an agency. There is no requirement that states they have to be a registered IFA.”
