BUPA has launched a major marketing push into the critical illness market and is giving policyholder’s their first month’s cover free of charge.
The insurer is promoting its product in the national and consumer press and distributing leaflets to over 500,000 homes and some 6,000 GP surgeries. The cover is also available through the IFA market.
Sales development manager Sue Wilkinson said: “BUPA is a household name in the PMI and long term care market but is less well known as a critical illness provider.
“This new initiative will help raise the company’s profile significantly.”
BUPA’s product is a protection scheme which provides the option of life cover.
It pays out 28 days after a critical illness diagnosis or after surgical procedures such as angioplasty and 26 conditions are covered.
