Age Concern Financial Partnerships (ACFP) has launched an immediate needs and a prefunded long term care (LTC) product aimed at older people.
The products, Immediate Care Plan and Future Care Plan, are provided by CGU and loosely based on its Wellbeing and Continuing Care plans.
Included within both contracts is access to the Age Concern Care Helpline. This provides customers with medical triage and comprehensive information on a variety of areas relevant to LTC.
Premiums have been reviewed to make them more competitive and definitions for activities of daily living have been examined to give them a softer more understandable focus. Additionally, a commitment on LTC in anticipation of future legislation has been included with the products.
In recognition of the importance of financial advice, both products will be distributed solely through IFAs.
Peter Gatenby, general manager of ACFP, believes the strong Age Concern brand and the experience of the team behind the insurance products will be a winning combination.
The two Care Plans are reviewed in this month’s new product section on page 19.
