Croydon-based pension IFA Michael Kirk & Partners has bought protection specialist Company Benefits of Guildford in an attempt to steal a march on the stakeholder market.
With its expertise in corporate protection products, primarily medical insurance, Company Benefits will add to Michael Kirk & Partners’ services, both as a self-standing broking operation and as an additional facility for existing pension scheme clients.
Both companies will continue to trade under their present names and all staff will keep their jobs.
Company Benefits managing director Ingrid Skoglund said: “There is a clear synergy between the two companies. We bring some 260 corporate clients to the merger and I expect there to be a high degree of cross fertilisation.”
Managing director of Michael Kirk & Partners Steven Goddard added: “It is our intention to develop and expand what is already a highly successful operation.”
