A recent survey into childhood ailments and parental worries has prompted Norwich Union Healthcare to produce a guide on spotting the most common problems and how to treat them.
The guide, Playground Plagues, covers a range of common ailments from asthma, coughs and colds to warts and verrucas.
Norwich Union Healthcare’s marketing and PR manager, Nicole Hockley, explained: “These are often the common problems and things that parents need practical information about so they can identify the problem, treat it quickly, or ideally prevent it in the first place.”
The independent survey revealed that while meningitis holds the biggest fear for parents, it is the common school yard ailments, such as coughs and colds that force children to take up to 15 days off school each year.
