Chris Watney, the chief marketing officer of Southern Cross New Zealand, has been appointed as CEO of the International Federation of Health Plans (iFHP).
Watney (pictured) will succeed Tom Sackville, who is retiring at the end of May 2020.
Sackville, who is a former MP and served as a UK Government Health Minister, took on the role of CEO at iFHP in 1998.
iFHP chairman Willem van Duin said: “Tom has been an outstanding CEO for over 20 years and has played a key role in developing our Federation into a worldwide network, now representing 65 health plans in 25 countries, and covering more than 200 million lives.
“The Council is extremely grateful for the dedication and contribution Tom has made to the Federation.”
