Amanda Blanc has resigned as the head of Zurich’s European business after eight months in the job.
Blanc (pictured) joined Zurich as CEO EMEA and Bank Distribution in October of last year from AXA, where she held the UK CEO role.
She will also be stepping down from her role as chair of the Association of British Insurers as she will no longer be a serving industry CEO. In October last year, Blanc became the first woman to chair the trade association since it began life as the British Insurance Association more than 100 years ago.
A spokesman for Zurich said the organisation “thanks Amanda for her leadership since she joined in October 2018 and wishes her every success in her future endeavours.”
Mario Greco, group chief executive officer, said: “We appreciate Amanda’s contributions during her time with us, in particular as we drive innovation throughout the business and introduce an enhanced culture of service for our customers. Our business in EMEA is performing well under the strong leadership of our Country CEOs.”
Zurich said Blanc’s successor will be announced in due course.
